A very special evening to be held in the illustrious Members’ Dining Room in The Castle at the Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes. Henry VIII had The Castle built in 1539, with a similar castle built on the Eastern side of the entrance to the Medina, though only The Castle on the Western side stood the test of time. The RYS found their home within The Castle in 1855, and have been based there since.
This is an exclusive opportunity for CLYC to dine within the Member’s Dining Room, and there are only 26 places available for the meal. Unfortunately, there is no additional space for extra bookings.
RECEPTION: 1900 for 1930 dinner (Glass of Champagne)
THREE COURSE DINNER
STARTER: Pan Fried Breast of Duck with Plum Purée, Hoisin Sauce, Baby Beetroot, and Baby Leeks
MAIN: Poached Fillet of Cod Loin garnished with Mussels and Bacon, with Saffron Sauce
DESSERT: Cherry Cheesecake with Toasted Almonds, Cherry Ice Cream and Griottine Cherry
Accompanied by complimentary dinner wines
The chef has requested that a primary starter, main course and dessert is offered. Guests should then provide details of dietary requirements and the chef will work to produce alternatives for guests as per their dietaries. Therefore, please ensure you have included all dietary requirements and/or allergies at the time of booking.
DRESS CODE: Reefer or dark blue blazer with club tie; equivalent for ladies.
TICKETS: Dinner with three courses, a welcome drink and wine is £135 per head.
There may be space for you to stay in The Castle overnight, and the accommodation costs are £172 for single occupancy and £198 for double occupancy. Please indicate on the booking form whether you would wish to book a room.
Breakfast at the Royal Yacht Squadron is available for Friday 12th September, and will be £25.00 a head. If you would like to book places at breakfast, please let the Club Secretary know, and also advise of any applicable dietary requirements and/or allergies. Payment for breakfast will be collected alongside the payment for your tickets.
Berths in the RYS Haven can be reserved at the time of booking, though there is limited capacity due to another event. Skippers are responsible for paying marina dues direct.
