We are incredibly excited that this year’s Trafalgar Laying Up Supper will be at Savile Club, London, on Monday 19th October 2026.
Not many clubs in the City have a Ballroom, though within Savile Club you will find the most exquisite room in which we have the pleasure of hosting our traditional end of season dinner. Savile Club is located in an 18th Century house in the heart of Mayfair, and was established in 1868 by some of the most distinguished writers and artists of the time.
In addition to the wonderful location, CLYC are looking forward to hearing from Dr James Lloyd, archivist at the College of Arms, who will be speaking to us about the heraldry of Trafalgar – the Napoleonic Wars marking an ‘amusingly low point’ in heraldic design. Dr Lloyd was educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge, and has previously worked at Aylesford Priory and Inner Temple.

DRESS CODE: Mess Kit/Black Tie with badges if you would like
PRICE: Tickets are £135.00 per head including drinks reception on arrival, three course meal with complimentary wines, and finally teas, coffee, and chocolates.
MENU:
To start: Gin-smoked Trout with Potato Blini, Crème Fraiche, and Ice Lettuce Leaves
Main: Venison Wellington served with a quenelle of Truffle Pommes Mousseline, Pancetta, Fine Beans bundle, and a Redcurrant Jus
Dessert: Chocolate Tart with Walnut Praline, Caramelized Cocoa Bibs, Vanilla Ice-Cream
Please ensure all attendees’ allergens and dietary requirements are added at time of booking, to ensure the Chef has sufficient note of any substitutions required for specific diners.
PAYMENTS: As with all CLYC events, all payments are due one week prior to the event date. Please ensure BACs payments are sent by then and, for those paying by GoCardless, please plan for the payment to be debited then. We will also be able to provide a Payment Link for the event on request to the Club Secretary, so that payment may be made by Card once you have followed the SumUp Payment Link (if preferred).
